Show your Christmas quilts!

Good morning to all.
It's getting close to Christmas again and love to look at all your quilts over morning coffee.
How about (me too) bringing out our Christmas quilts and posting them? Thank you. d

Here's one of my favorites. I have so many Christmas quilts and keep making more. It's not Christmas at my house unless there are at least two new holiday quilts to display.

The first one shown is from the IRR I did. LOVED it, but needed a new quilt quickly for a charity benefit... The good news is that the person who won it gave it to her MIL, who is in a nursing home. It has been on her bed, year round, since. Unfortunately, I didn't even take a picture of it finished before I gave it away!

The second one is my version of Bonnie Hunter's Carolina Christmas. It was her mystery 4 or 5 years ago. It's the one used on our bed during the Christmas season. Yesterday, I pulled fabrics for this year's mystery; it will be done in fall colors.

Wow I love all of the Christmas quilts. I would love to post mine but I have a small problem with that. I haven't started it yet. It has been here waiting to be made for 2 years. Guess it won't be finished for this Christmas either.

I love Christmas quilts; wish I could display all year long. I am working on the Christmas tree one; started last year and will hopefully finish before too long.

I started a hand applique about 20 yrs ago, 4 yrs ago I made some more blocks, but this time by machine app, do you think it would look ok to combine both of them. they've been sitting on my chair for 2 yrs now.

Sure! I would mix them up in the quilt, but I think they would look fine.

charlottequilts 10-27-2013 03:05 PM

All of these are so lovely! I feel like an underachiever. :).

Sash, did you do that red work by hand? It looks amazing. Would you mind sharing if there is anything lining the blocks?

Hugs,
Charlotte

These are 2 of my favorites. Snowmen always make me smile. The Nativity Scene was laser cut black that was fused to the background (not really a pieced quilt)

gailshaver 10-27-2013 03:58 PM

Love seeing all these Christmas Quilts. Will not be able to get one done this year but will definitely have one made by next year. New to this.

GKSM 10-27-2013 04:02 PM

They are all beautiful. I have done Christmas table runners, place mats and tree skirts nap but not a quilt yet. Now I am inspired.

Mariposa 10-27-2013 04:06 PM

Such a great variety of great quilts! Thanks for sharing!!

Okay, here you go with my Christmas quilt. To quilt it, I stitched in the ditch and hand sewed the binding. I also designed it because I had all this lovely Christmas material to make runners for friends for Christmas left over and decided I deserved a gift myself!!!

I did this one as a BOM with a group here on QB. It's from the book Quilts for Rosie and was paper pieced. It's an odd size because I want it to go across the back of my couch. Was made with Christmas fabrics I've bought over the years and never wanted to cut into.

Susy 10-27-2013 06:41 PM

Wowee, I just got my own personal quilt show sitting in my pj's!, they are all so festive, awesome jobs, ladies! Definitely puts one in the Christmas spirit!

SewExtremeSeams 10-27-2013 09:57 PM

Everyone's Christmas quilts are wonderful.

fabric lover 10-28-2013 01:10 AM

Oh gosh, so many lovely Christmas quilts. But I must admit I'm totally 'in love' with the penquin quilts! :-)

It's your quilt. If it looks ok to you, that's all that matters. Does the machine applique look grossly different from the hand applique? If it doesn't, I'd put them together. Done is so much better than undone.

JustAbitCrazy 10-28-2013 02:03 AM

What a great quilt show! Thanks for starting this thread! the quilts are all gorgeous. GailB, I love your Jovial quilt. It's so different, and happy. I also like your Cactus Wreath---I just started one of that pattern (only one test block made so far...)

owlvamp 10-28-2013 02:10 AM
