I always go for tone on tone....whether it is fusions or batiks...I just like the flow with the batik or the fact that the fusions are not just one tone of color...if that makes sense...solid colors look flat to me

Only solid color I buy is black. All others patterned or blenders or or or ... lol Oops, take that back, think I have some solid brown around here somewhere also.

I am glad you asked this question, I just had this same conversation with myself, I tend to do mostly patterns, if I want it to contrast I will do a very small pattern, but I think I need to use more solids, my quilts so far have been pretty busy. I think batiks work pretty well for interesting contrast, too. Rita

I like to use solids in with my pattern material, but the only place I can find a varity of solids in on line from Connecting Threads or when I get to the States from Joanne's.

My favorites are batiks and blenders, just a few "focus" fabrics.

I don't like solids, to me they are boring. I like fabrics that read as solids but have some movement. Mostly though I love lots of bright busy prints.

I like the bright solids for kids quilts ...they seem to pop

I hate solids! I never buy them. I do however love tonals and blenders. I just can't stand solids. No idea why lol
