I had a quilt top 'ready' to go to the quilters the next day when I noticed a star point going the wrong right in the middle of the quilt! Of course my husband told me no one would notice. Well at 4 o'clock in the morning I was ripping that part of the block out and fixing it.

I never noticed it until it was already basted ! That was the last time I ever basted ANYTHING without giving it a long hard look first ! It is a great quilt though, it has a permanent place on my bed LOL.

Slightly Off Quilter -That a beautiful quilt, but I haven't seen your "OC moment in it yet. What is the pattern? Yes I finally saw you moments - but love your quilt anyway.
Yes we've all been there and done that. I don't have room for a design wall, so I always take a picture of my blocks before sewing them into rows, to get color placement and to just view for mistakes. Strange how one can see mistakes through a camera lens. I don't know if we just get in to much of a hurry, or in the rote mind set at times. I can really goof on some patterns when I am interrupted.

Sewing in a block the wrong way comes with the territory. We're all in the same boat, if we're honest!!!

Haha! It's always the simple ones!

Only yesterday did I work out why I couldn't get the second half of my bargello to match the first half which was sewn together. Finally figured it out. I had an extra row that didn't belong. Have removed that row but now have to move one block on each of 8 rows. Oh! well time to make friends with the seam ripper - again.

Oh! These make me feel so much better....with all the wonderful, beautifully sewn quilts here I sometimes think I should take up soccer or another pastime.

I made this block just yesterday... and the day before... and the day before.... (at least a facsimile of it!)

Been there, done that...Infact on the very quilt that I am in the process of making. It is a QAYG done in panels. Showed it to my friend and she pointed to a block two panels from the bottom half way across the panel, that the bottom half was sewn wrong. I'm glad she saw it, because I didn't until she pointed it out. Sew much fun to have to take it apart to repair!!!

We all mistakes; me, constantly. How about having a "mistake" block pile and eventually making a "mistake" quilt? Or interspersing mistake blocks with test blocks and what if blocks and rag tag ends blocks, etc? Now that I consider that, it is just quirky enough to appeal to me. Get through this year and I'll take a crack at it. If I can ever figure how to make a Mac able to post on the Board, I'll let you see how it goes.
