I use mine & really like it. It did take some getting used to, like where it was when I needed to stop NOW!!
I have a muscle disease & it is beginning to really bother me after a while of sewing. The start/stop button helps. There's not quite as much pain in my legs when I use it.

If my machine has one (a Pfaff), I'm not aware of it. I didn't get a good "orientation" when I bought my machine so have just learned to use functions as I need them. It's probably just like my laptop or my cellphone in that it can do more that I know.

I have used my stop/start button but went back to using the pedal because I found I could stop faster with it. Using the stop/start you have to take one hand off the fabric and using the pedal I can still both hands on the project and stop or slow down easily.

I only use it for embrodiary.

I have the QE 440 and there is a start/stop button. I use it sometimes when sewing long stips or using decorative stitches.

I just got a new Janome 6600P...love the machine but hate the way it starts out (I like a fairly fast start...) and I hate the way it struggles with the foot pedal. However, I hate the start/stop button just as much! Why can't they make an "old-fashioned" foot pedal like our machines used to come equipped with? Are you listening Janome, Brother, Singer, etc?? First one to the finish line in this area will get my next purchase...

I do and love it. So does my 9 yr GD.

We put the foot pedals away.

well, I use it, but, not because I especially like it, but, because I like to sit on the floor with my machine, and run the foot peddle with my knee, its easier to start/stop w/ a button! lol sharet
