Boy, I sure used mine for months. I had an extensive reconstruction of my Achilles tendon in April and couldnt enen press the presser foot. I works great. I have a decorators choice Machine.
|
I use it only when I do enbroidery. Foot pedal for other sewing.
|
I use the foot pedal for piecing, especially chain piecing, but use the button for FMQ, and for things like wrapped rope baskets... There is just enough delay before the machine starts going to get my hand back down on the project.. I can set the speed.. and if I touch the foot pedal it turns it back off.. very very handy and I love it.. Just not for everything. I have a Pfaff Creative Vision 5.5 Love this machine.

My machine doesn't have a start/stop button, so I just sew the old fashion way, with the foot pedal, or the knee control of 1. |
I don't even have my footpedal on my machine. I did in the beginning especially for applique but a frien of mine told me to use the speed button to slow it down or speed it up. I did and now I use the start stopbutton only. Especially on FMQ i don't have to think about my foot pressure and concentrate on my hands.

The on/off button is one of the best features on my machine. I love, love, love it. I will never chase another foot pedal again.

Ok, here is the funny thing- I have a start/stop button but didn't know until I read this that I could use it instead of the peddal. HAHA. You ladies are all wonderful! But I think I will stick with what I know (and love) They say you learn something new every day! What do you know, they were right. :)

My start and stop is the foot pedal :)

i have never tried to use mine!! i think i will try it

Hi
I have Babylock machines and they all have the start stop button, I use it when I FMQ so my speed stays consistent. Also when I embroider, as that's how you do it. My two friends only use the button, I prefer my foot pedal. Bev |
