I was wondering how it would be for FMQ since it runs at one constant speed. Anyone try this?

I haven't used mine for piecing yet, but for long strips it works well. Just remember to adjust your speed on it to the slowest stitching and get used to that then you can start adjusting your speed upwards as you get more used to using it.

When I was machine shopping, the stop/start button was on my wish list. Didn't get it, but have discovered that the speed control comes close to doing the same thing.

Yes I have one and very hard to remember how to use it nice feature though

I have it and have never used it, I like the foot pedal.

I use my start/stop button for making bobbins. That is all. I like feeling I am in control of my machine when I sew, so I don't use it then.

I found that the start/stop button is useful for bobbin winding and FMQ

I only use the start/stop button on my Janome MC 10000, My other machines dont have one so I use the foot & knee & hand peddles. Sometimes when switching machines I get confused! Most machines with a start/stop button also have a speed control which helps alot when you first try to get use to it! Try it on slow then increase your speed as you go, you'll love it!

My new machine has a stop/start button. However, since I've been using the foot pedal for more than 1/2 a century now, I've not ever tried that button. Old habits die hard!

I love it for long borders.
