OK -- now for a REALLY DUMB question. I've never purchased batting "by the yard." I know I've seen it at JoAnn's, but I've never stopped to really look at it. Here's the question: what widths does it come in? Is it folded on the roll? From looking at the picture, it seems that it is folded. I could probably find the answers to these questions but it's more fun reading all of your answers.

The roll of warm and natural that I have is a single roll. It is not folded on the roll. If I had room I would get more rolls of different kinds like someone else has on here. What a wonderful thing that would be.

For a 70x94 quilt, here's how much would be needed (I need at least 8" extra length and width): 93" wide batting would need 102" (2.83 yd) 122" wide batting would need 78" (2.43 yd) It's almost a 1/2 yard less by buying the wider width. And on larger quilts, there's no need to join pieces. Clear as mud?? |
