I'm not stuck on the "log cabin" but I enjoy working on it because it is relaxing to me when I have been working on something with a hard pattern.

I also do the same thing. I am hung up on pinwheels. Different layouts, scrappy or not, but I love to make them. So now I am helping a neighborhood teenager make her first quilt. Guess which pattern she chose? Yep, pinwheels. She is an artist, has better color sense than me. I will post when we get it built.

I just found out about this pattern and LOVE it. It is sooooo variable. You can make as many squares as you want so it can be a wall hanging, big quilt or baby. I even had squares left over and made placemats. If you are stuck in a pattern, this is a good one to be it. Love your colors!!!!

Both of your quilts are beautiful. If you like making them, then go ahead. Pattern doesn't matter with the different colors. I have made 3 or 4 patterns at least a couple of times.
Most important thing is to make quilts and show us pics.

It was Trip Around the World for me awhile back....strip piecing and quick! Why don't you try one of those for a change? And I'll try my D9P which is close to your Take Five....

Stay stuck. These are gorgeous!

Sometimes I have too many quilt patterns I want to make, so I write the date I made the quilt that way I can try another one. I have to admit I don't think I have made more than one of any quilt pattern!

"If it feels good, do it!" as they said in the '60's. You are NOT in a rut. Artists often make long series (variations) of interpretations of one theme, experimenting and exploring possibilities.

Thanks for all the positive comments! I have spent part of today looking at patterns, and I have made no real decision for my next one. I've recently done a Trip around the World, D9P, Yellow Brick Road, and one really complicated artsy one....(other than the four Take 5's I just made!!) I am leaning towards a rail fence though, I think. I wasn't real happy with the last one I made...fabric selection is hard for me...so I might try that. Decisions, decisions....first I need to sandwich and quilt the last Take 5. :)

I think your quilts are wonderful and they look very different. I get "stuck on pattern". Right now I love the asterik quilt, it makes such a cute fast quilt, especially for kids quilts.
