One of the best tips I've rec'd is to fold every line in the pattern both ways. It makes it so much easier to check the size of the next piece you're adding when you flip to check it. Also helps when you're ready to remove the paper.

Well the books I have show you sewing on the unprinted side of the paper(this is why they suggest using tracing paper) with the fabric on the right or printed side. When the next piece is sewn on it is right side down on the previous number then I finger press then press with the iron. Then before the next piece I fold the paper at the line and trim the 1/4 in. where I will sew the next number.
Makes more sense to me and if the result is the same the no harm no foul. Also the friend that helped me said that since I am just learning to use a 1/2 in seam allowance until I was comfortable with making sure the pieces were big enough to cover the number correctly. :lol: |

I can't use tracing paper in my HP printer so I have to sew on the side I can see. However I do use 16# paper I get from a paper company. It does tear easier than the 20#. The only problem I can see is the direction of the finished block. Most of the time it doesn't matter as long as you do them all the same way. |
Thanks for posting this.... I made a copy for myself. I have done PP and I think this one could be pretty easily done. But I might take the pattern to a copy place and enlarge it so I can use it on the wall. It is only about the size of a potholder.

The one thing I forgot to tell everyone is about Regina's web site. She is doing a monthly free PP pattern. All you have to do is sign up for the site and she sends a note when the new one is posted. The one for this month is a very cute kitty.

Hey moonangle12! It's been a few days since we started this thread, and I'm wondering how you are doing on your project? I decided to give it a try, started out with the section A--the one with the sliver of a chimney, and, being the experienced PP'er that I am (ahem) I managed to get the chimney floating in the middle of the sky! OK, back to the printer to give it another try! :lol:
