For those that don't have a long ruler, you can use a long straight edge, I am using two repeats together for my stack so I put my ruler on one and a yard stick on the other to show, for this you just need to line it up on the repeat, there is no measurement so as long as it has a straight edge.

A few more pictures using the plain ruler with the 60 degree line on it,

Sharon, I couldn't wait to start sewing....ahh---so you are not alone :-)

Now, I have the first nine units sewn with the exception of the full x-wise seam. (otherwise known as the seam which is unsewn, ripped out, etc.)

I am eager to learn whether or not our leader will have us trim the corners before sewing the little triangles together. I have the trimmer from Alicia's Attic and went ahead and used it for the first set of nine.

Another confession: I only have my sets cut from the first length of fabric cut in six repeats. I am terrible about having the patience to wait for tomorrow.

Of course, Cutebuns did exactly the right thing to have the one week timeframe to allow us to catch up and find time to learn this technique. Thank you, Cutebuns, with your help and great ideas, I will be finishing this project with a great big smile :-)

Once you get it this has to be the fastest thing I have ever cut, I can cut and do the blocks for this in one day for a big quilt, so the rest of the fabric will wack up in no time,

I am glad that so many are having fun, I like it as I can do it over and over and never get the same quilt, some days I have issues just doing the same block for more than one quilt, this is different, there is just so much variation from quilt to quilt,

Someone just unearthed the one that I did for my niece for Christmas, I did it as a landscape, there is no limits what you can do with it,

8-) 8-) 8-) only because my computer crashed again and I had to go back to the laptop that we got last September ... ahh, life is good, if one doesn't weaken!
Probably following this fine tutorial has made me more aware of OBW/hexagons, and everyone is doing wonderful work! I showed DH so he could get an idea of what you were teaching ... it is all indeed impressive! You are a good teacher <wave>

Sorry to hear that you crashed yet again,This is a fun lesson to work on, I am having a lot of fun,

you can use the hexagon like a pixel in a picture, just need the right fabric to make up the colors that you would like,
