I love it |
That is a COOL idea, think I'll have to "borrow" it!!  :D :D
How cool is that!!! Great fabric.
I've got two wood luggage racks in the back of a closet. I bet I could turn one of them into something like this pretty easily. |
Yep, they make great decorative tables....Yours is very pretty....Mine is very utilitarian looking as I used ironing board fabric and made one to go next to my sewing machine for ironing the small pieces....Works great!!
very nice.....

I think these are so cool but I have to get up often so my back doesn't hurt :)
have 2 of the Wal Mart big plastic tv trays that i use. I have my ironing board pad on one, then my misc. on the other. PLUS I have my big board up to use! love my sewing room
This is a great idea! especially if you're doing something that's fiddly (paper piecing??) and you're pressing contstantly.
Please keep safety in mind, ladies and gents! Unless your wooden or plastic TV trays are a lot more stable than any I've had or seen, I'd be worried that the iron could go flying all too easily. Fire hazard? or burning yourself, family or pets? Using plastic for an ironing board, even when it is covered, is more of a risk than I'd want to take. Please be careful everyone |

I had an old table in the garage but it was just not sturdy, so i went to Walmart and bought this one. This one is bigger and a lot sturdier,I just painted the legs black because the table was some yucky brown. It was $12.00 |
I made one of those last year. I love it.
I've been using one of these for quite a while. My son had 2 that he picked up at Wal-Mart for about $8. He was moving and didn't want to take them so I grabbed one. I used an old towel for the bottom and a simple piece of flannel for the top. It was large enough that I just secured it with large safety pins. It sits by my machine when I'm doing small projects or blocks. Folds up easily and goes back in the closet when not in use. Another great thing to look for in your thrift store shopping....

I have one--I love it!
Wow. Amazing idea!
Wow. What an amazing idea. Wish I would have thought of it.. I am soooo green with envy. I LOVE LOVE this board, every1 has such AWESOME IDEAS. Every1 one thinks of things that I had not thought of yet. You did a wonderful job Cinnya. Please keep up the GREAT Work!!!! Thanks so much for sharing.
Have a blessed day. debra |
yes, going to make me one also
Darn, I just gave away a set of wooden TV trays that had smooth flat tops. Now I will have to find me one at a garage sell as I could really use a little table like that.
Have to go garage sailing now!!! All ur fault! Lol
Great idea!
these have been around for a while...I think Mark Lipinski even had the directions in one of his Quilter's Home magazines!
here is a link to this same thing in another QB topic that has pix and links! http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-42068-1.htm |
I made one of these last year too... but like quiltsillysandi, mine is utilitarian gray! I love yours because they are so pretty.
thanks for sharing.
Not only a great idea, but very space saving and clever. Once again thank you |
Great idea!!!! I think we'll all borrow it.
How cool is that! Gonna have to find an old TV tray now.
What a great tute! What quilter doesn't have scraps of batting and the fabric to make this! Thanks for posting!

Very neat idea - Quilters amaze me with their invention and creativity
I bought my wooden table after seeing some in a class I was teaching. (Target- $8.00) I haven't covered mine yet, but will be a summer project that I do.
what a neat idea!!!! will have to get working on one. My sewing chair is on wheels and I keep my ironing board down and I roll back and forth but this would be neat for small projects. Thanks for sharing
Your ironing table looks great! Good job!
