Here's one I made for my son. It's the disappearing nine patch. I used flannel for the border.

Does homespun bleed when washed? I had a plain I bought at Joanns, ( think it was homespun)and for some reason I decided to wash it and it bled on some white that was on something else and I had used a dye catcher cloth too.

squares and or rectangles. You don't need fancy as the plaids show off very well. Pictures shown are great for boy's quilts.

How about an overall boy. Overalls made of denim and shirt of plaid. My DMIL done one for all her children for Christmas. We love ours. She has 9 children 3 girls 6 boys. Good luck.

I did a 9-patch and alternating hour glass bocks from plaids and it turned out really nice.
