i too have had tons of issues with my mega quilter--from thread breaking--tension on the bottom too loose--skipping stiches--i've had them all. My machine must to oiled very often that seems to be the most helpful. I have used masterpiece thread by alex Anderson with the best success. I have had it to the repair man and he said there is nothing wrong. i use inspira top stitch needles --size 90. Hope this is helpful.
