I love my walking foot. Very good investment.

That's the whole idea behind walking feet or even feed is that both layers of fabric are fed into the machine at an even rate, thus keeping all the layers the same and not twisting, pushing, or moving the top one in a direction that you don't want it to go. I know that some people use one for piecing, but I personally don't like it for that, I'd rather use my quarter inch foot.

Those of us with Pfaff's use a 1/4 inch foot with their "walking foot". This is one of the reason's I will always own a Pfaff. I haven't sewn on anything that compares to it yet.

I use mine for outline quilting to kind of solidify things before free motion, and I use it to put my binding strips on. Don't think I could get by without it

I wouldn't make a quilt without one. Makes life so much easier.

I just recently started to use one for putting on binding and such. Even for Stitch in the Ditch. What a difference! I was a fool for not using one before now

I have been using my walking foot to sew binding on quilts and wall hanging. Don't like the sound it makes, but do like the results. Much smoother and more even stitching. I did love my Pfaff with the IDT, but my last one spent more time in the shop then me sewing on it. I do wish the other brands would come up with their own IDT. It is worth it's weight in gold.

Love it! I use mine for SID and accent quilting that is not FMQ. I don't, however, use it for sewing on the binding - I tend to sew faster than I think the walking foot can handle when attaching bindings (I HATE bindings and just want to get them done!).

I love mine for adding binding and doing some quilting

Couldn't get along without the walking foot. Back in '78 I bought a Singer Athena 2000, it had the walking foot attachment. When it died, after two new sets of gears, I bought a Pfaff with the built in feature. Can't imagine sewing without it. You can match plaids, no shifting.
