I use the walking foot on my Bernina for what little MQing I do and for applying binding to the front of the quilt. I dread having to use it because it is a pain to install. Have to put the feed dogs down and bring it in from behind at just the right angle. It works like a charm once installed.

My walking foot is the most valuable tool I've ever bought. I use it on anything that is over 2 layers thick.

Your walking foot is really a little miracle. Why have you not used it? My Pfaff came with one attached and it is in use all the time. When you are hemming jeans or any thick fabric, sewing set in sleeves, when you have matched plaids and want them to stay perfect, and the list goes on. Use it.

I could not get along with out it. I use it on layers like Placemats. It is a good investment and sews layers alot better.

I love my walking foot. I use it for everything I can.

I have one and use it for certain things. Always for SID quilting, grid work, putting on binding, pot holders, and any other time when I'm afraid that the regular presser foot will push the top layer of fabric more than I want. That's the whole idea behind walking feet or even feed is that both layers of fabric are fed into the machine at an even rate, thus keeping all the layers the same and not twisting, pushing, or moving the top one in a direction that you don't want it to go. I know that some people use one for piecing, but I personally don't like it for that, I'd rather use my quarter inch foot.

I love my walking foot....didn't realize what a difference it would make until I tried it!!

Yes, they are a blessing. I use mine to quilt in the ditch, and to do my basic stablizing and then my fmq'ing. it feeds your sandwich at an equal rate, top and bottom, it really is a great help. But, I mostly use my fmq foot.

I always use a walking foot to put on my binding...heck, I just leave the walking foot on my Elna Super and only use that machine for binding!
