If you get weird looks, invite them to start quilting with you. What an opportunity---three hours. Are the same people there each time?

I love taking handwork with me whenever I have to wait somewhere. It is usually a great conversation starter! In fact, I carry a crochet and/or embroidery project in my car at all times just in case I get stuck somewhere that I hadn't planned on. It's amazing how much you can get done in those odd minutes!
I hope all goes well with your son! |

Good for you in finding a creative time for waiting in the Dr's. ofc. I take a book or something also to keep my mind and my hands occupied. My biggest gripe? Parents who bring young children and bring nothing for them to play with while they yak on the phone!!!

Good for you, one of these days the ladies will probably be curious enough to ask about your project. You'll certainly have something beautiful to show for all your waiting time.
Congrats, Kutnso |
I know how you feel, I'm on the train handpiecing my Pies and tarts...I'm getting the same looks...a few even said...Quilting?? They were all men!!! LOL

Don't feel weird. Enjoy the time you have to do this. I made a quilt by hand while waiting for my daughter. She doesn't drive and I would take her to her night college classes. It was too far to come home so I stayed and sewed. Got lots of help and compliments from teachers and students.

Congratulations and condolences. I am halfway through the blocks, and have really been using the freezer paper. It's a big help when it comes to cutting those odd-shaped and odd-sized pieces. Have fun with it!
