I started my "dear Jane" quilt today :) I am hand piecing and hand quilting.. not sure if i will do the tedious little sashing in middle tho... My DH ran out to WalMart and bought me the biggest thing of freezer paper they had for it Ha ha. I will be making "dear jane" while waiting for my son in his speech, occupational, and physical therapy for his sensoray disorder. He gets 3 hrs of therapy a week at once so alot can get done! I started it today piecing it today at his session and I got a few weird looks but... I soo do not care cause while they are on their phones and looking at books and magazines at I will have something to show for my time lol.

Keep us posted on your progress with pics. Kudos to you for using your time in this wise manner. Thanks for sharing.

It's always a good thing to have take along projects to work on during "wait" times. I often have someone asking about what I am working on, and showing much interest. At least one person is doing a GFG now because she saw my work in progress. She had never sewn a thing before! It was fun getting her started, and I made a new quilty friend!

You might look into getting some letter size freezer paper. I know that it is a god-send with my DJ and a couple of others. It can go through the printer just like copy paper. There are several places that you can buy it on-line. I found the cheapest at C. Jenkins & Co.
http://www.cjenkinscompany.com/C_Jen...rsheets200.htm You can get priority shipping for $12 so less than $40 for 22 sheets. And I gladly pay for the convenience of having the right size to use the copier feature on my printer. JMHO |

Good for you. As I am now sleeping under mine, I know you have a way to go yet, but perseverance will get you there. You might want to check out the thread we have on the board:

god bless you, your husband and your son.
My guess is most of the folks aren't really giving you 'wierd' looks; they are curious and have nothing else to do! As Tropical says, people will start checking on your progress, which means you're creating the opportunity to make friends! |
Sounds like fun! Let us see the finished quilt! I know it will be awesome!
