If the quilt is < 6 sq ft I use 2 1/4". Larger 2 1/2"

I always use 2 1/2. It works for me.

thanks everyone. i hated that puckery or wavy look even when I thought I had the binding snugged up good. i found the 1 7/8" did not do that. I will do it a few more times and decide if I want to stick with that or go back to 2"

I cut 2 1/2. I have had good luck with the width and because of that reason I don't think I will change. I like the finished look I can give a quilt with my binding.

I use 2 1/4 unless I have a very thick batting then I use 2 1/2.

I do 2 1/2" to 3" because I tend to do slight larger that 1/4" seam allowance. Is it best to sew to front or back and turn?? Sometimes I decide depending on the backing.

DUH...I am always fighting to get my binding lined up front and back. Why didn't I think to cut it 2" instead of the 2 1/2" I've been using. Haha, I guess it's alright to laugh at yourself.

2 1/2" When I first started quilting, I cut a few at 2 1/4" and had trouble so I've stuck with the 2 1/2" since then.

I always have had success with binding strips which I cut at 3 1/2 cm. (centimeters). I use the machine to attach
the binding fabrics, then after ironing, I hand stich the binding on to the backside. This give a very neat binding
to complete your quilt. It also serves as a good guide to placing a sleeve for a wall-quilt.

2 1/2" for me.
