I say do it! If you have that much high quality fabric in your stash, and an inclination to buy more, now seems a good time to sell some of the older choices. You might consider offering one or two choices. I like the idea of flat rate boxes but the postage alone on that would be over $10, plus the price of the fabric. You could offer a 1 lb. envelope for a lower price. Anyway, good idea and I would be your first customer as I love LQS quality surprises!

I would definitely be interested in a "surprise package". Could you do something in all naturals like white on white, creams and tans? Of course I love large florals too! Reds, purples, blues and on and on. Please pm me when you've got it figured out. I'm definitely in.

I really think pictures are a must when buying fabric.
I want to see what I am buying. With the digital cameras it only takes a few minutes to layout a stack of fabric and take a picture. And I want to know the yardage as well.
Think of this as a "fun" project, you get to play with your fabric!

Could you weigh how much fabric you can get in the flat rate box and then figure out how much fabric that is....so they would know closely how much fabric they are getting. And know that you are including only LQS quality fabric. I think that would be great! Dani

It would be fun to get the surprise if the boxes weren't too expensive so I would not loose out too much if I couldn't use a piecs or two.

I say do the surprise boxes. You are getting enough responses that I would go for it. then whatever doesn't sell you can go ahead and take pictures of

you *are* going to lose no matter how you sell it. I've wanted to sell my stuff that I'm no longer into, and realized that I'd probably get 1/4 for it. Had to accept that and re-focus my mind that I'd have "X number of dollars for new fabric that I *would* use." My husband isn't so easily re-focused!

Just my 2cents. I like to see and feel my fabric. Sometimes LQS fabric is not always the best at a high price. I like to see how much a fabric will ravel.

Being canadian, I know you have bags that seal, they hold 12-15 meters of material and cost very little to post. This might be an option for you to look into instead of the more costly boxes.
If you go this route, I would be very interested, but not with the boxes.
