I also use them for binding. Another use is when I am cutting the fabrics for a project and identify by writing on a sticky note where the piece or section is to be used by clipping the note to the piece of cut fabric such as: top pocket on a purse, front panel, etc.). Another use is when making the windows for IDs on billfolds and you aren't able to use pins on the clear plastic window in assembling the billfold or purse.

I use them for MANY things. I have 4 small and 2 large clipped
to my purse in case I need a clip. Another use I have is for my iPod ear buds I like the kind that has the on/off mic built into the cord, and I only use one ear bud most of the time so the other is tucked inside my shirt. I use the clip to keep the button at the top of my shirt so I can easily start/stop my audiobooks that I am listening too. So many uses that I have found them to work great for, but my brain is still sleep foggy and I can't think of them all right now. |
I'm not at all creative. I only use mine to hold the binding in place for hand sewing. I do love them for that purpose. I now have 200 Wonder clips. My LAQ usually returns 3 quilts at a time. I have almost enough clips to get them all ready for hand sewing.

When matching difficult seams I glue baste with Elmer's school glue. A dab of glue at the matching point, then clip with wonder clips till dry. Works better than pins for me.

I use mine instead of straight pins - holding pieces in place while sewing, and sewing the binding. I have even used them to keep piece of a block together before I sew it. You never know when you will need them - so I keep them handy.

Like Silver Needle I use them to attach all of my binding to be sure the binding seams dont fall at the corners. Haven't used them for anything other than binding so thanks for your post, I got some good ideas.

I only have the tiny red ones. I use them to hold my hexes in place when hand stitching them together. Also I use them when I am hand stitching my binding to the back of a quilt. LOVE them!!

I was given a quantity as a gift, but have found no use for them in my quilting. Consequently, I use them to hang lingerie and nylons to dry.
|
I use them for binding or any other thick seams that are hard to pin through. They are a lot easier to use than the hair clippies I used to use.
|
They're great when you make a purse, with all the extra thicknesses what would bend pins.
