Sounds like Janome is the most popular - I have a Viking Designer SE...works great. I was going to get the Janome 7700 but it doesn't do anything mine can't already do and it does it better - so I will stick with what I have. I don't think I would buy another China made Viking though.

stitchengramie 10-03-2011 01:06 PM

I have a Euro-pro x and a 1940 American/National Rotary Sewing.

Bernina 140, Singer Featherweight (with scrolly side as opposed to the striped one) Babylock Inspire, APQS Liberty that takes up my whole dining room. I sold a Janome Gem to a friend whose machine broke and she didn't have the money to buy another machine at that time.

Willa 10-03-2011 01:18 PM

Fun thread! Bernina 180 and 160, 2 Viking 190's (my workhorses), Singer 503A, 99k, my mother's wedding gift from Daddy (1943 FW), and a Singer serger (old). My newest obsession is converting the 99k to a hand crank. I have never bonded with the Berninas. Love the Viking and the 99 has a gorgeous stitch!

I have 3 Pfaffs - serger, non-embroidery and embroidery. All of them I have gotten new in the last 2 years.

I have a Brother, not sure of model, that I got about 6 years ago and kept when I got my first Pfaff.

I also have a FW which my mom gave to me for my college graduation in 1973, and I have her Singer 301 which she bought new in 1954 I think.
