I am just curious what machine(s) everyone uses for piecing/quilting ? And if you use more then one list them all
Brother CS600i I also have a singer 401a and an older Sears Kenmore I need to do more with  LOL |
My 2 Singers and an older Kenmore :D:D:D
I have a brother xl3030. I have a few other machines, but they all need servicing.
Janome Horizon
I have an old New Home that I use, a Brother ce4000, a Featherweight, a cheapy Singer, a White, and a MegaQuilter. It just depend on what's threaded with what color and what I want to do. The New Home only does straight and zigzag, the MQ and FW only straight.
I piece with my featherweight and quilt on my Janome
Bernina 230, Elna 6003, and my Featherweight just arrived yesterday!
I piece with my Elna Quilter's Dream and do straight line quilting with it. If I am doing free motion quilting I use my Pfaff Grand Quilter. Sherry
I piece with my Husqvarna/Viking Sapphire 875Q and I have handi-quilter HQ18 Avante.
Brother Innovis-40 (Project Runway Edition)
Love it! |
I piece and FMQ with my Viking Platinum 775. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
My Bernina 930 and My 1952 Singer Featherweight.
my Singer 15 clone treadle, my kenmore 385.something and my 127 Singer.
Bernina 630 that I love.
Also have a collection of Featherweights and two Singer 301s. |
I have loved my Pfaff 7550 for many years. Recently tho, I saw a demo of the Husqvarna/Viking Sapphire. I was very very impressed and am enamored of it. To bad it's soooo expensive.!

Janome 6600 Memory Craft Professional
I piece with my Brother CS6000i. I quilt with my Singer Curvy because once I got the walking foot finally on, I decided I am never taking it off.
I have a Juki98Q that I just love. It will sew through just about anything you put under it.
Bernina 440.
I do most of my piecing on my Janome Gem Platinum. I use it mostly because I do a lot of piecing while we are on the road in the motorhome. But, unless I am in a hurry, I quilt on my Pfaff Creative Vision. It is much larger and has the built in even feed foot. Also, I have lots of patterns stored on the computer to use for quilting.
I've been using a Viking Rose machine since 1996. It was my retirement gift from my sister. I have a singer machine that is probably older than me @66 & it works fine for general sewing.

Babylock Espire and Pfaff Performance 2058 as a backup or when I need the walking foot.
I use my Pfaff 7570 My Pfaff 2056, and for away from home classes I use my little Pfaff Hobbymatic 947. I used to use my Pfaff 1229 alot but traded it to my sister for a laptop. and because she did not have a machine that had IDT I also have a Pfaff coverlock 4862 that I am starting to use.
I piece on the Singer I learned to sew on at the age of 7 yrs. Use an old Nelco Zig-Zag for quilting. Still do a lot of quilting by hand. Anxious to get Grandmother's Singer Treadle cleaned up. Hope I can work it.
I use a Janome 6600P. I got it a couple of months ago to replace (or sit beside) my beloved Janome MC3500. I've had the 3500 for 11 yrs and going strong but the throat is just too small to do anything bigger than a lap quilt-and even that is a pain. I have yet to do any quilting on my 6600 but I've pieced a top on it.
At home I use my Bernina 1080 most of the time.
Right now I'm sitting in a hotel in San Diego with my Featherweight having a retreat all by myself while my DH is at a seminar at the convention center. |
Piece with either Elna Quilters Dream or Brother 4000D, use walking foot on Brother 1500 and quilt on HQ16.
love them all! |
I use primarily my Juki, viking designer 1 and an old 1950;s
pfaff industrial that I just love! |
Bernina 640 for both. I am going to try my Singer 301 for some piecing, though. Gotta get the hang of the foot control since it is stuck in the cabinet and I have to use a knee lever to run it! I keep waiting for the presser foot to lift every time I use the knee bar!
