It looks like my old serger, I never did like it.

looks like my bernina serger from the 80's. I used to use it a lot for quick costumes for my son and the roller attachment makes beautiful handkerchiefs, napkins, tablecloths, and baby clothes

It is a Bernette Serger. I have one just like it. It is about 20 years old and is used to sew and overcast the edges of fabric. I used it more when I was sewing clothes. But you can use it to make quilts. Especially row quilts.

It has the look of a serger. Other than that I don't know.

Could it be a blind hemmer?

looks like a 4 spool machine like a serge/.

ywoodruff5 09-10-2011 07:16 AM

Is definitely an older 4-thread serger.

Its an old serger. Mine is about 20 yrs old and looks very similar. What's the brand?

It is a serger. There could be a small tray-like part that fits to the right of the bed extension to catch the clippings that are cut off when using the serger. It does not take the place of a regular sewing machine, but makes finishing the seams so much easier. I always use mine for making pillow cases (no french seams).
