I have the day off from watching my 4 yr. old grandson. So today I plan to begin working on this quilt.

Yeah, so I chose wool because it's fall in PA and that means wool. The original was done in batiks (ugh) and I couldn't bring myself to do that -- it was just too radical for my traditional tastes. No, it won't be washable, but since it will hang above the fireplace for only one month a year, I figure a good brushing will serve it well. My SIL's wool table runner is a different story -- her cats loooove to sit on it, so she brushes it with a clothes brush every other day!

Thanks, DebbE. It's finished now with a sleeve and green binding which I sewed by hand on the back (I usually machine stitch them, but this one was small enough to do in one sitting) and ready to go once its hangar arrives . Once it comes down, the Christmas wreath goes up.

The pattern is downstairs, but if you want the details about it, just shoot me a PM.

NYgal, that's really pretty!! Is it paper pieced?

Ah, forget the PM. Here's the website for the Horn of Plenty pattern. You'll notice mine is a wee bit different.

I'm hoping to finish piecing a rail fence top that I decided last week to give to my aunt for Christmas. All my blocks are done, just have to finish putting the top together. After that, I think I'm going to give Elmer's glue basting a try on this one - for the whole quilt as discussed in a thread here earlier. Hope it works for me. I need to get my basting table out of my living room so I can get my Christmas tree put up next week! LOL
