Love the colors. I think a tote bag would be great.

I agree -- and some of the fabric is sooo nice!!

My DH says make a picture quilt with an insert of a boy stomping in a puddle, but I don't know how to do that. Ideas?

If you want to use your husband's idea, you could use a Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam sharing an umbrella for a big center block, and then use the umbrella fabric in a windmill block for the rest of the quilt. Wouldn't it make a cute anniversary gift for someone?

Sue & Sam in the center would be cute.

I got so many great ideas! I have been offline (about killed me) for 5 days after our hurricane, so am just looking at the important stuff right now... Thank you all so much.

The fabric is from Hi-Fashion Fabrics, Inc,
pattern #HFGM-C 6561. I will definitely post a picture of whatever it grows up to be.

I love the fabric. Your husband's idea is a great idea. The colring pages website has a really cute picture of a boy with a frog. Your quilt can be done with a 'reverse applique technique'. I will enjoy seeing what you decide to make with it. Thanks for sharing. Eiltcoq.

Love your fabric, I'm tossing around the idea of a quilt with a medallion center on point made with an umbrella appliqué, then a border or two, then blocks on point with mini umbrellas, ducks and rubber boots. you could add some bright yellows in there, some blues to show water, oh fun! maybe I need to go get a yard of that fabric!

The only thing I can think of is to make some squares maybe a Sunbonnet Sue & Sunbonnet Sam scattered among the umbrella squares and in between squares use some of the umbrella colors. I hope you can picture what I mean. Good Luck. Sue

Hi Lee, I am new to the site and really stumbled upon it looking for some of the Umbrella fabric that Hancock's carried a few years back. I was wondering if you still have some left and would be willing to sell it.

I was really surprised to see this was still active! I only had one yard of this in the first place. I downloaded some clipart of kids in puddles, and figured I would insert a couple in what was otherwise nearly a one-piece top. Sorry to admit that I have not made anything with it yet...

yel 06-02-2013 01:28 PM

i have some kids playing in the puddles if you would like one ...it is also very bright colors

Sure -- I have printed a couple on fabric and see that I need to get back in gear on this project! I have been making stuff for fund raisers, but will not get back to my own stuff.

Lee in Richmond 06-02-2013 01:48 PM

That was supposed to say I will now get back to my own stuff.
