I am really enjoying reading all of these.
I don't know if this is silly but it was really stupid. I asked my husband for an opinion. |
WOW!!! When I asked this question, I had no idea that it was going to be so painful. The injuries I have read here, are enough for an episode of MASH.

I was showing my sons how sharp the rotary cutter was so under no condition were they to touch it and yep you guessed it i cut myself! i also sewed through the head of one of those flat headed pins..the machine made an awful loud clunk and i couldn't work out what the noise was so i continued sewing and it wasnt until i turned it over i saw the pin hanging there..

We had an old Maytag wringer washing machine (gray, square tubbed) and I got too close while putting the clothes through. Fortunately, there is a reverse on the wringer. |
This is hilarious. I guess I've done nearly all of these except sew my finger or needle threader with my machine, cut myself with the rotary cutter, or have a mishap with a wringer washer. I haven't done garment sewing for many years. Putting a sleeve in upside down with the seam down the top of the arm did me in. You folks are the best! By the way, my seam ripper and I have an intimate relationship since I started quilting.

I did this too!! thought I was the only crazy one, I sewed right thru my index finger and fingernail and oohhhhhhhh did it hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I've also fumbled my iron and it melted the carpet where it landed. |
Well let's see , I have done some of the same boo boo's. Yall have said except for a couple . I have never sewed my cutting mat . I used to used a wringer washer , too . Never got my t's caught though . For me that that wouldn't be hard to do . Sewed through my finger applying lace , didn't use pins ! Learned that time ! Sewing mishaps , too many to mention  . This is sure a fun thread  Annie

I have a variation on the "I hadn't plugged it in " story. I HAD plugged it in. I checked and re-checked. But I plugged the OLD Pfaff's controls into the NEW Pfaff. They don't ruin each other, but they don't work. I wrapped both sets with Magic Tape and Labelled them Old Pfaff and New Pfaff. |
