My studio has 6 can lights with natural light bulbs, I have an ott light over my right shoulder, and a pendant light over the sewing table that shines right where my quilt or pieces are. There are some days I wish I had more natural light in there, so DH says when we have to replace the roof, he will put in a couple of big skylights. Can't wait, that should really do it

I have an Ott floor lamp by my chair, a bendable bright light on my machine with extra mounts for the backup machines, an Ott desk lamp and those spiral bulbs in every other fixture in the house. I also use a small halogen gooseneck by my chair when doing handwork. Next on my list is a floor magnifying light. As I get older I need more and better light.

O.K. I'm from Arkansas and new to this board. I have a Dazor light (has a rolling floor stand) that has a magnifier in the middle of the circular bulb. Absolutely love it! My children gave it to me for Mother's Day one year to help me cross stitch (one of my daughters is a cross stitch nut) but that light has been relagated to my quilting passion. I'm not a great quilter but I absolutely love it and am determined that my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will have one of my hand-pieced and hand-quilted quilts if I live long enough. I have been reading and learning from this board for several weeks now and just realized how to participate in your discussions. Have no idea how to post any pictures. Keep up your good work ladies and know that you are all an encouragement to the older women who are "young" quilters.

I have a beautiful chandelar in my bedroom that gives of lots of light but I would still like to have a bendable lilght by my machine. I don't usually sew to late at night though so maybe I don't really need it.

I have three overhead flourescent fixtures, each with two bulbs. I also have a desk type lamp with a regular 60 watt bulb which fits into a hole in my floor frame, on the end that is in the shadows.

My sun room is my sewing room. It faces west with large windows west and south. The natural light is excellent until about 4pm when it starts to warm up. That's when I make myself get up and go to Curves. I limit my sewing to 4-5 hours, otherwise I wouldn't spend any time with DH.

Occasionally I do sew at night, but not often. My lighting is a desk lamp with magnifying glass that I bought at JoAnn's and an overhead light. Again, the light is very good, but I prefer daylight hours. I do have to be careful not to expose my fabric to the sun.

It's a small room but very serviceable.

I have 8 4ft. flourscent bulbs in my basement paradise. Also love to use a bendable light I got from Ikea for $40.00. It should last 10,000 hours, but mine has died for some unknown reason. The table lamp has a heavy base and an 18inch bendable arm. Can't wait to get another one. It's much better for me than my Ott lights.
