To press my binding when I'm ready to attach it the back of the quilt - WOW! - what a difference that makes.

Also now we can purchase top quality fabric that cost 1 third of the price we have to pay in Australia and may I say very efficient service, quilting has really taken off, with us buying all our fabric from the US your economy is about to get a boost. Regards Carol-was just in your city! Since we have many quilters now from Australia, maybe it would help if you post the on-line shops that you have discovered will ship overseas-I was living in Vanuatu for 19 years and rarely found a site that would ship to me. The A$ is so strong now against the US$, it would save BUNDLES for Australian quilters to buy here. This is another example of how helpful this site can be!! Aussie Carol |
We buy from Fabric Shack, Fabric Depot, Fabricworm also have beautifull Japanese prints, the service is very efficient, thanks to the quilting board where I have found these great web sites. If you buy in lots of nine yards (US is imperial measurements not metric) you do not have to buy nine yards of the same fabric the postage is only $13.75 and as you are getting quality fabric 1/3 price to what it is in Australia it is a great buy. If you find a fabric website just go into "Shipping" and it will tell you if they mail internationally, most do.

There are several.
1. best tip was from my friend who introduced me to this board. 2. All the examples of sewing rooms. I just took over my husbands office in Sept. (Full of clutter.) Now it is a functional sewing/quilting room. The large desk is my cutting table. Thanks for all the pics. 3. Pictures of quilts. I have no creativity. I have bookmarked several and now my imagination is endless. 4. Harbor Frieght carpet blades. 5. The many on-line fabric options. Every day I learn something new - what to do and what not to. |
