I have mine ready to start, 4 scrappy quilts (about twin to full size) and one that is blue and white only. I hope to have all five done by the end of May because I'm having shoulder surgery soon after that and won't be able to hand or machine sew for awhile--at least six weeks. I will be out of my mind when that time comes.

Vanuatu Jill 12-19-2010 03:27 PM

Finish the border (hand-quilting) and bind a charity quilt,
sandwich and quilt (hopefully with my new Brother if I get brave) 2 wall-quilt panels for my restaurant overseas (I go back in March for a couple months again), quilt a queen size Bear Paws I have finished thread basting (and lived to tell the story! LOL), sandwich and quilt (again, hopefully by machine) my snow globe quilt, and start my son's queen sz quilt that I bought the fabric for a few months a go(on sale, of course). I have decided (I think) to send out my other two queen tops to be quilted- (when I can afford it)-just have too many other's I want to make now. I figure that will take me to Xmas again-when I will drag out my Xmas fabrics and start again

barbrdunn 12-19-2010 03:49 PM

I'll be finishing the Christmas quilts I didn't get finished in time for Christmas...then some UFO's and charity quilts. I want to get my quilt room cleaned up and not to have to feel guilty starting something new. I would also like to do three small memory quilts for my sisters and brother in honor of my Mom. I have some beautiful pink ribbon fabric I am dying to use.

fireworkslover 12-19-2010 04:11 PM

I'm about half done making blocks for the next fireworks quilt entry. Then sew the blocks together I made last winter for a new duvet for our comforter and make the blocks for the other side and make the cover. I just found a pattern for a tree skirt and I bought the fabric for that a couple days ago. Next year I'll have a new tree skirt. We've been using one my Mom made for us when we got married, 30 yrs. ago. Let's see, then I've fabric for several purses/bags, yarn to knit a shawl, con't making quilt as you go placemats, like I made for others for Christmas gifts, for us to have. That's all I can think of right now. This isn't counting the at least 10 hunks of fabric I've bought with OBW's in mind...

elkridgequilter 12-19-2010 04:23 PM

ufo's, ufo's and more ufo's!

jojosnana 12-19-2010 04:40 PM

I feel like a slacker. I have one baby quilt for late Feb or early March and then I am free to start some of those quilted Christmas ornaments that I saw pics of on here. I ordered the pins and balls and will be ready to go after I finish the baby quilt.

garysgal 12-19-2010 05:09 PM

Finishing up two quilts for my grandsons. I have a baby quilt to make, and some charity stuff. Then I am going to make Dresden Plates table runners in Christmas fabrics. I never seem to have things made on time, so I am starting early.

LogCabinLady 12-19-2010 05:25 PM

I have a dp9 quilt started that was put on hold for Christmas gift making and now I will finish it for my grandson who will graduate from high school in May 11.

I'll be putting borders and backing onto 2 couch quilts, then getting to work on a quiet book for my youngest granddaughter. Also will be hand-quilting a baby quilt. The little break over the holidays will be nice though ;)

CraftySClady 12-19-2010 06:14 PM

Have a few UFO's that I really need to finish, maybe one of them will be for me...everytime I get one for myself finished...someone else needs it. ( or I need it for a gift for someone!! LOL).

grandma sue 12-19-2010 06:35 PM

I decided I would finish my Christmas quilts and projects that I didn't do last year. That way by the time Christmas rolls around again, they will be done.

Davida 12-19-2010 06:45 PM

Rusty's Mama 12-19-2010 06:51 PM

Clean out the quilt room - sort through the stash and gather together the UFOs (to complete, hopefully) and try to downsize a little! I have a DIL who quilts and I have told her if she needs to buy material - check out my supply first!!!! Then, I want to dig in and do some more charity quilts. I also want to do some more Downy quilts.

Nancylou 12-19-2010 06:54 PM

I will be working on quilts for two of my grandsons for graduation gifts. I will be finishing a 38" cloth doll and her wardrobe and her stuffed animals for my one year old great-grand-daughter. I will be making two puddin'head dolls for my 4 month old great-grand-daughter. I will be finishing a quilt for the one year old and one for my three year old great-grand-son. I also, need to finish the swedish weaving afghan I am making for my daughter-in-law (the babies' grandmother). That only needs to have the edges finished. All of the weaving is done.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that I also started little stuffed animals and cloth dolls for one of my brother's three granddaughters and stuffed animals for his baby grandson. I made tote bags for each of the girls to carry the toys around in. These all need to be finished by the end of May because we will be visiting family in Michigan then. If I complete all of those things, I will probably make an afghan for my 17 year old grand niece for her graduation.

Whew! I think I had better get back to work. I really hope I don't start the potholders I would like to make for my Mom and three sister-in-laws. I already know the weaved afghan for my other daughter-in-law will be postponed until after our trip. They both already have one I made for them two years, ago. But, if one gets two afghans, the other gets two afghans. I love them both the same and right now they both love me and I want to keep it that way. :)

Tropical 12-19-2010 07:41 PM

Congratulations, Davida. There is nothing better than grandchildren. Unless it is Great-grand-children. I tease my sons and tell them I had them so I could have all of the "Grands and the Great-grands." They just reply "yeah- we know , Mom."

Suziuki 12-19-2010 08:02 PM

My Boss turns 50 next year so I have been collecting fabrics of his hobbies and likes, to make a signature quilt. So far the fabrics I have collected are stamps, coins, chocolates, spicy sauce bottles, food, bright patterned shirts, Taurus Zodiac Signs, American Bank Notes, American Flags, Australian Flags, Couples Dancing, Boots, Hats, Japanesse Writing, plus I will be transferring some photos of him and also his orchids to printable fabric to add another dimension to the quilt. I keep finding fabrics that I can use, so this quilt will probably be quite large. The block I think I will use is called a Friendship Block and is 9" finished. I have until May as you can guess from the Taurus Fabric. Will post pictures when it's done.

Annz 12-19-2010 08:15 PM

finishing projects and gifts as they come up.

sewingsuz 12-19-2010 08:19 PM

I agree, I decided a few months ago to not rush, rush and learn and expirement with the new things that are running around in my head every night. merry Christmas and do what you want next year.

MaryAnna 12-19-2010 09:05 PM

Working on WIPS & UFO's before starting a new project.
Blessings,
MaryAnna

anniec55 12-19-2010 09:24 PM

Several UFO's, haven't had the nerve to count them! But I have a new machine sitting on a frame in my sewing room waiting for me to start her up and practice so I can start quilting my own quilts!!!! YEA!!!

Tropical 12-19-2010 09:34 PM

I really hope you can stick to your plans. I have learned that in order to be there for all of our loved ones, sometimes we need to take time just for ourselves to nourish our energies and to give ourselves a little love. Besides it sounds like you have some fun things planned for yourself. :)

Tropical 12-19-2010 09:41 PM

My last post was for sewTinker. Still, I think it fits all of us. Happy sewing in the new year to all of us.

marlene tarzwell 12-19-2010 09:49 PM

I have 3 tops to finish but before that I want to make a quilt for a little girl[11] who has recently has been diagnosed with leukemia. She has already lost all her hair and is constantly in and out of the hospital. She is the daughter of a lady that works for my husband at a Drs. office. Please put her in your prayers. Thanks.
After I get my house back to normal I want to also start on my quilts for some Vet. and wounded soldiers. I couldn't do a lot this year because of being sick for 4 months. I have tried to donate to some charity every year since I moved to SC, from Mi. 6 yrs ago. So I have a lot to catch up on for 2010. Can't wait to get into my stash which is HUMONGOUS. I probably wont use it all in 10 yrs. YES I AM A FABRICHOLIC :(

Good for you!

cr12cats 12-19-2010 09:59 PM

I have been looking how pretty the table runners are here on this site and I thouhgt I would try those for birthdays this year.Everyone lives out of state so thought they look small enough and not to heavy to send. Then I need to get hemming some pants which I hate doing. My husband teases me cause my inseam is only 25 inches. So hemming is always something I need to do now that I can't wear heels anymore. Then there is the UFO's. Now that you have bought this up I have more than I thought .. oh goodness there are so many new projects to do though. chucks! what is a girl to do?

Tropical 12-19-2010 10:01 PM

I bet that is going to be lovely.

Gina_D 12-19-2010 10:08 PM

I hope to make something for myself & then do some UFO's - want to try making a cube quilt for my DGS. Also have a baby quilt to do, & hope to make a baby quilt for 'just in case', & maybe another trapper cap with beaver skin, & then I want to do a quilt for charity this year. I want to be burned out on quilting by the time gardening season arrives. It's the first time in years that we haven't gone on vacation in January, so it's going to be a long winter.

JAS 12-19-2010 10:51 PM

I have several ufo like the rest of u..I have a quilt for a friend to finish setting blocks and attach the h-appliqued panel to. That is 1st on the to do list. Hem a DWR then it's finished, sew Halloween RBR blocks into a top, same goes for DJ blocks, work on 2 of Bunnyhill's h-app tops I have started, then I hoping I have found the quilt pattern for Civil War Bride by Corliss Searcy..anyone have this pattern and would like to part with it?.I want to have it started by summer. In between I'll work on some QOV blocks for a friend who makes them into quilts.

bjdemir 12-19-2010 10:56 PM

Two baby quilts to finish and another one to start. A block of the month to catch up on, a Gone with the wind block of the month to start. a Shop hop quilt to finish and another one to start. So I will be busy. Also have a request for a table runner to make.
