I will be completing a quilt to raffle at our WRAAF (Women's Royal Australian Air Force) 60th Anniversary reunion to be held the last weekend in January next year.

Becky Crafts 12-20-2010 03:26 AM

I have four great grandchildren expected from late January until about August I think. Definitely baby quilts, a purse, then I'll be thinking birthday gifts & next Christmas. This family could start a small community of its own! Good grief!! LOL!

thegypsy1968 12-20-2010 04:51 AM

I have 3 projects in my head that I want to start..a depression quilt block quilt for my mother and try to somehow put religious cotton panel images inside the block. I just found out I am going to be a grandmother for the first time..soo I will be busy making things for the little one. I also want to start a quilt for my bed with batik fabrics...not sure which one I will start..Blessings and Merry Christmas to you!

mjsylvstr 12-20-2010 05:26 AM

I want to get ahead of myself or should I say catch up on what Christmas things I didn't get done that I wanted to do...

Perhaps if I start right in after these holidays, I might be ready for 2011.....

GailG 12-20-2010 05:34 AM

There's catching up on the baptismal bibs I make for the church; a stack of finished quilt tops that need to become quilts; mending; cleaning/organizing; a graduation quilt for DGS(2012); and then it'll be Christmas again!

TheGypsy, what's a "Depression Block"?

I would like to make a memory quilt for my dad also. How do you get the pictures on the fabric?

Once xmas is over I am going to draw out some patterns for Saint Patties day, Valintines day and Easter for appliqueing. Just going to make them for simple projects like pot holders, table runners, greeting cards and wall quilts. But first going to take a week brake from sewing.

doowopddbop 12-20-2010 07:23 AM

For the first time in about five years of quilting for clients, I should actually have time after Christmas to quilt my own quilts that have been piling up in a bin under the longarm machine - about 19 of them. I am determined to whittle away at my UFO pile (about 18 partially sewn projects) and get my 25 shoeboxes of scraps organized, sorted, and cut into useable pieces. I have also been dreaming about my next couple of quilts, a 10-minute block quilt and a crazy-patch using upholstery samples... I really can't decide where to start!

jng616 12-20-2010 07:29 AM

I have 2 baby quilts I have to have finished by mid Feb. And my mom wants me to start working on stuff for a craftshow

Linda1 12-20-2010 08:06 AM

I want to finish my UFOs and work on using up my stash.

CountryStitching 12-20-2010 09:44 AM

A flannel quilt-as-you-go! Can't wait to get started!!

jdeery 12-20-2010 09:50 AM

Well, I want to go and organize my sewing area and I have to finish a baby quilt for my new granddaughter that is coming in January. Then my cousin and I are working on a rag quilt,
then we want to do a log cabin for ourselves with the stars.
That and also working on some projects for a craft sale in November.

purplefiend 12-20-2010 11:32 AM

I'll be takinga class from Debbie Maddy at my guild next month. Its stars with no Y seams. It will be mostly pinks and 1 dark red.

Start over on Christmas gifts, a few b-day gifts, and start on projects for the quilt show in August. Not much.

chichimamma 12-20-2010 12:16 PM

My son just told me he is getting married on April 23, 2011,my first child to get married-he is 33. I had been buying fabric to make him a black and white pinwheel log cabin-now I have to hurry it up. I also want to cross-stitch a wedding sampler for them.Linda

I do have to make a quilt for an auction but I hope someone will volunteer to quilt it. Not due til end of Feb.

Hi, Jan, my shoulders get really tense, too. Here is what our workout person here at work said: With your hands down at your sides, hold a weight in each hand (start off light) and just lift your shoulders up and let them drop. This has really helped my shoulders. I hope it helps others, too.

Projects I want to get started on: a quilt with my orange fabrics that I cut out before Christmas, and the mystery quilt from here...

Luckylindy, thank you for the suggestions. I'll try that--I'm so tired of smelling like BenGay. I know to keep moving them even tho it's painful but didn't know about the weights. I've taken so much Advil I rattle like a pill bottle. Thank you and I'll let you know if it helps.

Baby gifts for my niece, I have to get those done in a few weeks, but I am anxious to start.

May in Jersey 12-20-2010 03:07 PM

After the Holidays I need to:
1 - turn a small Van Gogh panel into an interesting little quilt, due in Feb.
2 - begin a lap size quilt for a challenge due in mid-March,
3 - turn a Quilt Diva t-shirt into a piece of clothing or maybe a shopping bag, also due in March, I think. May in Jersey

bgullett 12-20-2010 03:22 PM

Need to finish a few UFO's. Reorganize and see what I have find something else to get in to!

lnikkers52 12-20-2010 04:28 PM

back to charity quilts for me. I think every one in my family has 2or3 of my quilts already :)

Debbie V 12-20-2010 07:12 PM

Have many projects to get finished. Started a G'ma flower-garden about 1yr and a half ago. Have the blocks done but don't know what blocks to break it up with and make the quilt large enough for my bed (Queen). Been at a lost. Always something to get done. First I have to make some more cuddlers for the NICU at the hospital.

Thanks! I don't "do" scrappy very well, but I think I may be able to handle this one.

RugosaB 12-20-2010 07:15 PM

I have a friend, whose house was completely destroyed in a tornado in the spring. They're having a new house built, and I'm going to make her a quilt with a Golden Retriver theme. That's how we met, she's active in Golden showing, rescue. She doesn't know it's coming, that way I have no time frame, but it's the first thing I'll work on, starting tomorrow.

missionslady 12-20-2010 07:58 PM

I have an order to make a table runner. I've never tried to sell anything I've quilted, but I'm now having people place orders when they see something I've made that they like. This will be my 6th table runner by this same pattern from a McCall's Quick Quilts Magazine. When I figure out how to post pictures, I will do so showing some I've made. Next I need to start on grandbaby #10's first birthday present, a Pokey The Little Puppy Quilt. Has to be finished and mailed so he will get it by Feb. 19th. For many of you that is ample time, but I'm not so fast, and I have a lot of things I'm involved with in the New Year. But just thinking about making these projects is exciting! Thanks for asking!

Rann 12-21-2010 05:52 PM

Baby quilt for cousin and UFO quilt of mine.

Bev 12-22-2010 03:31 PM

I will be finishing up the quilts that I didn't get done in time for Christmas. There are two in particular that were rather long and involved so I'll take some no-stress time to finish them up and get them off to the people I owe them to.
8-)

Pzazz 12-25-2010 12:03 PM

Since I am having hip replacement surgery on Feb 7, I plan to have a few things finished to the point of handwork. Not sure how long it will be before I am able to get back to "normal" quilting routine.

I have a king I am working on hand quilting that likely won't be finished by then, so that will be the first to complete. Then I want to get a start on a quilt for my youngest son....potential wedding gift. He and his lady have been together for about 3 years now. I hope they last...she is such a sweetheart, we all love her.

AND....I am hoping to at least get a start on the quilt for our bed this year. I have only had the fabric for quilt and curtains for about 6 or 7 years!!! LOL (Don't want to rush into anything, ya know? hehehe)

I'm sure I will find lots of projects as the year progresses.

Whatever we all work on, it is so nice to know there is so much support here whenever we need it!!! I love you all.

Patti

I've been stockpiling quilt tops this past year and hoped to take a few days off work and quilt some. A few are small and a few are quite large. I have 4 for children. Never know when someone I work with or know will be having a baby and I'm out of finished ones, so I should finish a couple to have on hand. I've been practicing feathers on my longarm and have one or two that may be sporting some very soon......lol. I also want to try some sweatshirt things and if it works you'll be seeing some pics of those too. I have plenty of ideas on what I want to work on, now if my energy holds up I might just be able to do some.

I'm finally getting around to getting the specifics on comfort quilts for an Alzheimer's study group. Then I have to get two quilts finished up for them.

Becky Crafts 01-02-2011 03:56 AM

I'm presently trying to add color to the most boring bear panel I've ever seen, I have a long list of small items to make for next Christmas and I want to make a lap robe for our DSIL who has been so good about my daughters' quilt with purple & magenta which he really feels are "girly" colors. LOL!! I may try my hand at a french braid in earthy colors for him, just to show him I do care. :-)
