I don't mind that I Stitch Approximately In The Ditch, that my points don't always match, that I don't have the exact right color thread, that I can't stipple to save my life. BUT, I HATE MY PUCKERS! The walking foot, basting carefully, more tension, less tension, whatever. It is of no avail. I'm like the kid in "Sixth Sense": I see puckers everywhere.
|
I hate when seams don't match up. I try to let it go. I really do. But I usually rip and restitch. I haven't had too much trouble with puckers but I'm sure I will on my next project just because I said that. lol
"I see puckers. They don't know they're puckers." I love that movie. |
i have perfect seams +perfect binding+perfect quilting my colour choices are wonderfull------my only flaw is i lie about my quilting abilities !!!!!!!!!
|
That I cant walk by a Quilt shop without walking in and buying more fabric.. But then again, is that really a flaw?!?!?!?!?

I think I'm capable of climbing tall mountains; when, in fact, I'm lucky to make it to the corner...

Flaws? What flaws? Mwahahaha! Seriously, it depends on the day!
|
You know what? Puckers don't bug me. I've occasionally gotten some when piecing because....well, mis matched seams DOES bug me. I will deal with a pucker in a block to make sure my seams match. My last quilt was the first one on my new machine, and I hadn't gotten my 1/4 seam sorted out yet. That one had quite a few puckers in the top. I did go buy a 1/4 foot after that and the next one was pucker free lol. But you couldn't even notice once it was all quilted and washed...*I* couldn't even find them and I was looking for something I *knew* was there! lol
I haven't yet encountered puckers on my quilt back...I'm sure I will, eventually! LOL It will completely depend on the size of it to determine if I rip it out. |
I think my biggest flaw is that I don't always sew 1/4 inch seam :( . But I can live with most of my flaws.
|
All of the above and lots more I'm sure. The older I get the easier it is to admit faults...they are just part of my wonderful personality...lol

My biggest flaw, among many,is that I don't finish things. I see a new pattern or find some lovely fabric and off I am to a new project. I can't call myself a quilter until I learn to finish what I start.
|
Let's see: I'm short, I'm fat--oh you meant quilting flaws.
I'm obsessed with making blocks. If I see one I have to try it. I must have 100s of blocks piled up in the closet. If I ever need a potholder I'm ready! Gotta find a way to put them in a quilt (after I try some new block patterns I found). |
The biggest flaw that I have had is striving for perfection. When my seams did not match it drove me bonkers. That is until I posted to this group and they gave great advice about riding by on a horse and others. I felt relieved. Most of my seams match in the quilt I am working on now, maybe a shade off here and there, but, as this quilt is coming along, you don't even notice.
|
My biggest flaw...I buy patterns and quilting books like they are going out of style, yet I never use any of them. I have never used a pattern for any of the quilts I've ever made...LOL
I have the same problem in the kitchen! I buy recipes books, but never cook! |
Getting the exact same line and edge of fabric together when rotery cutting. Sometimes I'm just a tad off and I try to be so careful!
|
Procrastination, number 1!

First is my obsession with buying fabric, patterns, & books. My kids call me the gadget lady. LOL! Next I am a perfectionist. It has to be near perfect or I ripit, ripit, ripit. Now the secrets are out.
|
Flaws? What? I have no flaws. Just ask my DH. He says it to me all the time...
"Oh sure honey, and you have no flaws...." But he has a funny tone to his voice when he says it....huh... |
My worst flaw if that I criticise myself too harshly. I think I have to be absolutely perfect when it comes to quilts even if I'm just making extra pot holders for our kitchen. But knowing your worst flaw and stopping it are 2 completely different things.
|
i have a few flaws with my quilting but the big flaw is buying more fabric when I have told myself, "no more fabric buying"
|
My worst flaw (right now... you see they change!) is that I spend too much @#$%^& time on this quilting board and haven't sewn a stitch on my 3 WIPs or any of the other sewing projects I've got in the works. lol...
Wait, why the heck am I joining yet another thread here???? Oh! Because I learn so much and have so much fun! |
My flaw is I can't say no. I always have way too much going on like now, crossstitching for three people,. hand quilting for another, being on the QB so much, mom wants to go to the casino, etc. However, as far as flaws in quilting, my bindings, those are not so good. The corners are never perfect. I try and try. I have bought miter things, etc. Just not happening. My other flaw is my sewing room....enough said on that. ROFL
|
I absolutely NEVER have flaws in my fabric work.
Although I do admit to some cherished personal and distinctively creative differences in sewing!! |

needing to "unsew" the same mistake---more than once!
|
when things go wrong....
STOP and try and figure ut why they go wrong. Is it in the cutting.....sewing etc etc. After the first seam is sewn, stop and measure. If they are not the size they are supposed to be then find out why. Slow down and check, check and over check. The time will br worth it. |
Lots of things in general that don't always happen. Sometimes the 1/4 is off, not always. Most of the time the points are good, but not always, etc. The thing that is always off is sashings. No matter how I measure, plan, etc. they don't line up. Ever. ARRRGGGHHH
|
I tend to be a perfectionist and I beat myself up too much thinking nothing about my quilting is ever good enough.
|
I don't worry about my quilting flaws. If someone points them out I just say you can worry about it for me. I have taken quilts to show and tell that were gosh awful colors, no matching points, wavy borders and I hold it up and say look at this one I made.
|
My flaw is that I hardly ever finish a project. I love piecing, but I'm not much of a quilter so I have plenty of UFOs.
|
My biggest flaw is I have too many going at the same time, & not enough hours in the day to quilt them.

but I did break a record recently...I went six weeks without a fabric purchase! no, really! I made one two days ago online bc I am starting a project and already had a yard of something and wanted another yard. Weeeeell, since i could get free shipping at 35.00...I needed a few more things...but that's ok. most of them will go in the project :XD: Now to start on a new record...one day at a time. I find that staying offline and cleaning helps...but it doesn't get my sewing done  |
Flaws in my quilting are many....but that's ok because I never have to deliberately make a flawed block to let everyone know that I believe only God is perfect.

According to my poor eyesight, I'm flawless!
