It's just me now. I have a 2 bedroom 1 floor townhome. When I had a wood floor put in the Master Bedroom [MBR] I saw how beautiful it was and thought: I only read in bed and sleep there .... What a waste. It is now my "studio' with my Handiquilter, storage shelves, large table for the embroidery machine, computer set up, and a sewing cabinet for my 'regular' sewing. I have the sewing cabinet by the door so I turn it at the doorway and can watch TV, which is in the Living Room.
I love it.
I sleep in the smaller bedroom ... since I'm not in there as much.

I took one of the bedrooms upstairs and turned it into a sewing room. DH went to Lowe's and bought 2 doors without the holes and made a cutting table and sewing table. I have a tv and a computer up there so I can hide for a long time.

I just had a thougt that I wanted to share...a design wall...very cheap thing... I use the closet door and I hung a new, padded table cloth (the kind with the plastic on one side and the flannel type stuff on the back)>just tape it down neatly on the inside of the closet door, and there it is..hangs nicely, doesnt take any wall space, and it works..I havee 2 pooh bear panels hanging on it right now...I wanted to find an very inexpensive way to do this, and it worked!

I used to use the smallest bedroom for a sewing room. It was just way tooo small. So we made it a computer room. We have two guest rooms but we need them because we have a lot of family from out of town.

We had a finished basement with carpeting, etc. There is a really nice gas stove that looks like one of those old iron wood burners. It keeps it sooooo cozy. I dont have natural light though since it is underground...the two small windows are useless. So my husband installed huge lights the full length. i am still trying to organize it. It has furniture but we have a first floor FR, so I decided to take the basement over for sewing.

When I started quilting I kicked my kids out of the den and converted that to my sewing room. Now I have a large room with walk in closet. I have my own tv and computer in my sewing room. If I'm around DH or kids when I'm sewing they interrupt me too much. I only sew in my sewing room.

My kids moved out, moved back in, moved out moved back in moved out then my then 5 yr old grandson came to live with me now he has moved out............after he did (he is now 6)I hurried up and turned the spare bedroom into my sewing room. At one time I had both spare bedrooms and 2 sets of kids were here, after one moved out i took the walls down in that little room and made my living room bigger. I caught on real quick............no room to live they dont move back home. When the grands come to stay I have plenty of couch space and quilts for them. Don't get me wrong I love my daughters but not on an extended basis in MY house. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians...........make for turmoil in the Tee Pee.

I use my spare bedroom as my sewing room. But I also do my hand work in the parlor.

I sew/craft in the second largest bedroom. Sold the daybed this fall so I could put up another table. The grandkids can sleep on the blowup mattress when they stay. I call this room a sewing room but I also do scrapbooking and cardmaking. It has a huge long closet for fabric(and a few clothes) with two full length shelves. On the other wall there is a window seat-covered with bins of scrapbooking papers-with built in drawers under the seat and a cabinet to the ceiling with doors. The cabinet holds my t.v. etc.
