I make lots of scrappy quilts, they are my favorite. Thanks for the photos girls, I love to look at them. If I had a digital camara and knew how to load them up in my computer I would post some of mine. I'm learning so maybe someday. anyway I really enjoy this thread.

I am fairly new to quilting (less than a year) What is a DJ or I think I have heard it called a Dear Jane quilt?

Can you share your Sunbonnet Sue pattern JoyjoyMarie? It is the one I used to make my sister (13 years younger than me) a baby blanket when she was a baby. I also had the boy pattern too. It was an old pattern that came from my grandmother but it was lost over the years. Oh and I never knew there was any other kind of quilts but scrappy until maybe 20 years ago. Us grandkids loved to check out gramma's quilts she made because they would have signs of our clothes and she used the scraps from all the seamstresses in the family. Yes...scrappy is dear to my heart and I've made many. As you can see in my double-wedding ring as an example.

All your quilts are very pretty but I really love your log cabin scrappy! What is the name of the guild quilt block?

If you love scrappy quilts you must go to www.quiltville.com and meet Bonnie Hunter. She is the queen of scrappy. She has details on how to make quilts while making other quilts - this is called leader/enders. She has ways to get your scrappiness together and she has luscious patterns, free. Sara sewings quilt that she has pictured looks like Bonnies Star Struck block - free instructions on Quiltville. I am a hostess on the yahoo group Quiltville swap and we are doing a Star Struck block swap. Come join us if you love that pattern.

Quiltville quilts I have made.
Carolina Christmas is the newest one I made for my dgd. It was put out as a Christmas Mystery, but Camryn wanted purple, so purple she got.
Old Tobacco Road came about because Bonnie moved and the old barns and tobacco colors inspired her to do this quilt. It was a mystery, but I couldn't do it at the time. When it was finished it was not my fav until I saw the borders put on. I love this quilt now.
Orange Crush was another mystery

This quilt was a picture on a fons & porter calendar. Amy Skattbo saw it and figured out which two blocks this quilt was made with. My niece was entering Ohio University which is green/white colors, so this is her quilt. I love this quilt and so does anyone that has seen it. Friends are building a house, and she saw this quilt and went crazy, so all blocks are done and waiting to be put together for her surprise - and she will be!!
