me, me, me!! I love scrappy quilts but I usually make mine with controlled colors. I recently made a burgundy and tan scrappy square in a square, a scrappy blue and white bear paw, a scrappy purple and white bear paw and I'm almost finished with a scrappy navy and cream log cabin.

I love scrappy. I would rather die with 20 "ugly" scrappy quilts instead if boxes of scraps. I can't post a picture of my latest because it's half quilted. It was from a quilters guild last week. Here's a photo of the pattern- it's really easy. But this one is not mine!

Wow! lovely pictures of your scrappy quilts!

Do you decide where to put the colors in the block or just how ever it comes out? Do you figure dark, medium lights or just go for it?

    Thanks for sharing your information.

Love your scrappy quilts! I just now have been introduced to them. However, I can't seem to get away from the matchy-match thing. Here's a pic. of a matchy, strip quitl I'm working on.

Hi there, yes I am a fan of scrap quilts and using recycled fabrics, there is a special charm about these kind of quilts. I apprciate how the ladies of long ago made these wonderful quilts not only on a budget but the quilts were sometimes works of art in them selves. I love the challenge of working this way, although just a beginner myself I am already collecting for my next quilt!

Scrappy quilts are my favorite. Although I have to think about what color goes with what. Haven't gotton to the part that you just use the piece you pick up. Maybe someday. Working on a scrappy QAYG right now and it is turning out so nice. Love it. Will post when done.

I make scrappy quilts. They are my favorite quilts. I started with controlled scrappy. My latest is everything but the kitchen sink.

Scrappy is my all time favorite. I host a scrap surprise every spring, this will be about the eighth or ninth year. The controlled scrappy here is one of them.

I love scrappy. I have been working on 3" square scrappy quilts and I love the look when you don't pay much attention to what goes next to what... Penni

I want to try a scrappy quilt, but am afraid I'll come up with something horrible! I know there are no set rules in scrappy, and I know that we can let our imaginations take over and guide us in the design process... I guess I'll just have to jump in with both feet and try one soon! Love all of your examples btw!

Yes, try - I make scarappy quilts for the nursing homes and it helps me keep some control over fabric in my stash. I think scrappy quits are bright and cheery and I keep them lap size.
