I'm guessing "scarps" should actually be "scraps".

FQs are Fat Quarters. Sometimes you might also see them referred to as F4s. (a piece cut at 18"x22" )

Just for informations sake: F8s are Fat Eighths, typically cut 11"x18", but could also be 9"x22".

I am another scrappy lover. The very first quilt I made was a scrappy. I have done more scrappy than "on purpose" quilts. My dad inspired me with scrappy....he used about 40 yrs worth of my mom's sewing scraps to quilt with when he retired. It was so much fun to look for recognizable fabrics from garments mom had made. I am currently working with 1 1/2" squares....making 9 patches, joined with WOW. Very relaxing, and fun to see it come together.
