I got mine at Marshall's Dry Goods on the internet. The price per yard was extremely low but then there is the shipping. The even had the maroon color I wanted.

I had a problem finding the right width of unbleached muslin...got it on line from JoAnn's in Loveland, Colorado. I am sure any JoAnn's will have the 108" backing, just have to look for it..and be sure you have enough yardage. I am making two large quilts, the same, and needed 7 yards..that was the amount.

i go to walmart and get flat sheets, 200 count , which are usually pretty cheap,,they make great backing, and no piecing

I've gotten some at Joanne's, but mainly at my LQS. But, I usually piece my backs, I like them better, a two sided quilt.

You can buy a bedsheet the same size as the quilt top with a little extra on each size. This way the quilt will be the same length and width as the bedsheet on your bed. If you want, you can use a king-size sheet for queen-size bed or a queen-size for a full-size bed. Good luck! Check with the shop where you buy material, maybe they will know when you can buy the larger pieces of material.
