Totally curious on where you are using the vice grips in your quilting? |

Yeah, I found a tutorial on YouTube before I put thread to fabric, thank God. What a mess it would have been. But thank you!! |
Hey I started with clothespins....years ago thats all we had....time is a great teacher. I feel very greatful when I have finished a quilt and learned something in the process. That is one of the reasons I try a new pattern every month....to learn

I used the wonder clips on a quilt project...each blk has 6 pieces-4colors & I have cut each unit-clipped together, now have it set aside-ready to sew...I like them
|
I use glue baste it, and heat set the binding, stays right where I want it

We use these little metal clips and really like them. They're dollar-store cheap too, about 6 to a dollar in a pack of 30.

I never use anything but my thumb to hold down the binding as I sew it down. I use 2-1/2" double binding so, to me, it's not wide enough to need pinning or fastening down before sewing.

use binder clips, cheaper, you get a lot for a little money and if you're worried about rust stains use fabric scraps between the clip and the quilt. works great!

I have a really great set of tools that I use for holding my projects. Some of them are antiques and were handed down from my grandmother who used them to hold her projects, they are called PINS, and they are still the least expensive tool to use.

Good old fashioned clothes pins work great. I use the wood ones and write on them. left, right, top, bottom, corner.....and super cheap...
