I wonder if regular clothes pins would work. They come in wood or plastic so no rust stains.

Looks like the very small binder clips you find at office supply stores would work. I buy them here at work on sale for less than $1 for 12. But - I use the clips that look like hair clips and I'm sure I bought them from a quilt place and paid much more for them. Sorry if someone has already suggested this - didn't have time to read all.

Yes, I use the large & small hair clips at Family Dollar and they work great! Saves a lot of money.

It is so important for us Quilters to think outside the box. Paperclips, clothespins, binderclips are were not made for quilting but work so well...and all else fails....a hammer !!!!!!!

What is the ladder stitch? I just use the zigzag stitch and pretend that's part of the pattern :)
Couldn't you use the clothe pins, or the bag clips from Dollar store?

I use the hair snaps that snap when you close them. Light weight and only need a small box of them. I bought then in the hair department of the cosmetics area. They carry the same thing at quilt stores but for a lot more money. Mine were cheaper for the same thing. Jan

I use elmers school glue, that way I don't even need pins. There are you tube videos or different sites that have free videos to see how easy it is with this method.

I've had my "hair clips" for long time, but recently bought some at Walmart for my friend. They were cheap and work great.

I just saw a bag of clips that looked soooo much like that at the Dollar Store - but they were packaged as clothespins - so help me, they looked just like that. I almost bought a bag, now I'll go back and look again and maybe get a couple of bags.
