I used to say Bay-Tick.
My sister has said Baltick. I told her there is Noel. (can't help myself. It's December)
I was in a fabric shop and heard someone say Bah-teek.
I haven't a clue. How do you say it?

I'm with the Bah-teak group. Sounds more exotic.
I've actually done some batik paintings on cloth many moons ago. I worked (not very successfully) with one of those wax drippers but mostly with melted wax and a brush. It was fun to work in all those layers.
