Oh wow! The wavy lines made a big difference. Still looks crinkled too. I love crinkled quilts.

I wouldn't worry about it. It looks "squishy" just what a baby quilt should be.

I think I just did this on a quilt...I got it out of the wash expecting it to still be pretty flat (poly batting) but it had crinkles like a cotton batt! I didn't mind, I was just surprised.

I like this quilt and the wavy lines are perfect! It was fine without them, but even better with them. Good call.

This is the first quilt I have basted the layers using Elmer's Washable School glue. The quilting (STID) seemed to go okay and I didn't notice any problems with wrinkling, puckering, etc., while I was working on it.

I tried ironing it, but really that just pushes the wrinkles around and doesn't improve how it looks much.

I'm wondering if I rewash it and lay it flat to dry, would that improve it, but I don't really think it would look any better.

    I will appreciate any suggestions.

Hi. What a cute quilt. I think I would quilt in some wavy lines to make a watery look to the open ares where the wrinkles are. Just some free motion quilting would help a lot and look even cuter.

I really like the puffy look. It makes it look soft and warm. You could use a medium iron with a medium spray starch to give it a smooth look before you gift it.

I know a lot of girls use the e. sch. glue and have good results. I tried it on a wall hanging and my results weren't good. I ended up taking it apart and getting rid of the glue.
Yours may be too far along to do that, but I jus couldn't have it like it was
    Good luck

How did you get rid of the glue? I'm confused. I have used it on projects that will be washed and just washed it out. I can't imagine any other way to get it out.

At any rate, she already fixed it with more wavy quilting. Just scroll up a few posts.

Oh the baby will love cuddling on it and playing on the floor with it. Give it as promised and then you can either make a second with more quilting if your friend would like one. But I'm sure they will love it as the baby will adore it.
