Default Need Pattern/Block Ideas 6 Inch Squares

I have a focus fabric with squares that will finish at 6". I need some idea of what to do with this. The patterns I have that have squares for a focus fabric need 10 1/2" (cut) squares and I don't really want to put frames around each focus print to make them that much bigger. Anyone have any ideas?

how about SIAS ... or SIASIAS etc?
Or alternating plain blocks?
Or the centre of a star?

Or ............. if you showed me the fabric, I might be able to be more specific on the ideas!

Its the Old Guys Rule Fabric and I have several of the pieces of it. The large motifs will make 6" finished squares.

I had no clue what the fabric was, so yes, asked Mr. Google!
So This?

Google also sent me to this link ...
Old Guys really do Rule!
Looks like someone here has already "been there, done that"!
And gosh, what did I say about SIASIAS?

P.S. see post #16 ..... doing what you said?

Warm Wishes always works well with a focus fabric.

OMG, that's what "my life's work" is all about these days! Just Google "Free 6" quilt blocks" and you'll get many! Enjoy!

Of course I sew together many of the different blocks where you may be wanting to make a quilt with just one or two 6" blocks patterns.

I was thinking about Warm Wishes but the pattern I have is for a 10 1/2 inch square. I didn't feel like doing all the calculations to size it down.

If your panel blocks are 6", you would cut: 1 centre strips @ 2 1/2" wide and 2 side @ 2 1/4" wide, sew together and cut into 6" squares

No, the focus squares finish at 6 inches. You would need to cut your strips 2 1/2 inches wide, sew 3 together and subcut to 6 1/2 inch blocks.

As I stated in the first post, I don't want to frame the motifs on the focus squares. I need a pattern that has a six inch finished square.
