Question about yo-yos

I use the yo-yos to make leis for folks who are leaving the island. (Flower leis are given as a wish for the person receiving it to make a quick return).
I have used all tropical prints for some. The yo-yos are strung together through their centers to make the length you want and the ends are tied together. A small silk tropical flower and or bow can be attached to the front. Sometimes I use a button or bead as a spacer between the yo-yos to show off the fabric. Scraps of batting can be cut into circles and placed inside the fabric circle before the ends are drawn up to form the yo-yo. This gives an added puffiness.

I remember when I was a child that someone had made a bedspread out of them, It was absolutely gorgeous. Of course, one needs a sheet underneath it. Good Luck.

Does anyone use yo-yos for projects but hate making them?
About 6 months ago I took up making yo-yos as a means to
"kill time" when my mom was in the hospital. By the time she
passed (about 2 weeks later) I was totally hooked on making
the blasted little things.
I do use them in some projects, but at the rate I am making
them which can be from 5-50+ per day and in several sizes/
shapes it is becoming quite clear that I may never get around
to using the majority of them.
Now for the real question I wanted to ask.
Do you think there is a "market" for pre-made yo-yo's in a variety
of colors/prints?
I DON'T plan to stop making them because I find that it is relaxing
for me to make while laying in bed watching tv, waiting for Dr. appt.
during my lunch break at work (when I remember to take one) etc...
Thanks in advance for any replies.

My mother made 1 king-sized, 2 queen-sized and 5 twin-sized bedspreads and three skirts with yo-yos. I love my bedspread (queen with lots of varied fabrics in it) and the twin bedspreads made in blocks of same color with white sashing between. In fact, when mother died, I placed a yo-yo, needle and thread in her hands in the coffin. We were so used to seeing her make them that it just seemed natural.

Thank you all for all the suggestions you have given me.
I DO plan to use some of them, but with as many as I am
making I know that I will never use them all.
My oldest daughter who also got hooked on making them
at the same time I did wants to make a summer quilt with
a sheet as the backing. She wants the "large" size (not jumbo)
and she wants ALL of the yo-yos to be made with fabrics that
have pink, as long as there is pink in them she wants the fabric.
So I am helping her to make them also, but I get tired of working
with fabrics that has pink, so I switch off to making other sizes,
and colors.
I recently purchased a magazine (forgot name at the moment)
that had 3-4 projects with yo-yos, and I have many other ideas
as well, but still if I made 3 of every project on my "to do" list
I don't think I would ever use all of them up.

Good idea, would hide my hideous stitching as I can't seem to sew in a straight line (matching my walking).
