I had trouble with the needle threader at first. The thin piece that needs to go through the eye of the needle would often go down the side of the needle instead. I tweaked it until it goes through the eye of the needle all the time and it has worked great ever since. If you look at the threader with a magnifying glass while operating it, you can see what I mean.
