I have a 2.0 and mine makes a clunking noise if there is a built up of fluff under the bobbin.
Give it a good clean and see if it is still noisy

Usually when my Pfaff starts sounding a little rough it is either asking for a new needle or the finger on the bobbin is in need of oil. I have a 7550 that is the only place that you oil it.

I don't know how to describe it except to say it sounds kind of 'thunky' if that makes any sense. The question -- is this a normal sound?
Try changing the needle, it may have a burr. if it still sounds weird I would take it in for service.

I also have a Pfaff 7550 and it does sound rougher than my Bernina 1530. I have had it checked and nothing is wrong, it just sounds loader than the Bernina.
It is true, you have to keep it clean, keep the hook oiled and change the needle often.

I too love my Pfaff. I would check needle and bobbin. Are you using a good quality thread? It can make a world of difference.

Have the machine checked. I have 2 Pfaffs and they both have sweet sound. If I start hearing a chunky sound I check for lint buildup and/or dull needle. It is possible the needle is slightly bent. Even a new needle can have a bend in it.
