Default Question: Preparing a Quilt for the Long-Arm quilter

I have drawn a complete blank. Does the quilt TOP have to be 4 inches larger on all sides for the LAQ? Thanks.

The extra 4" on all side is for the backing. You need the extra fabric to be able to center the batting and the quilt top correctly. That is the size I am prepping when I am sending my charity tops off to my LAQ.

Yes, be sure to ask. My LAQ requires 6 inches.

My long armer requires the backing and the batting to be 4" larger all the way around.

Hope your quilt turns out wonderful! Have fun.
