Default Question on Rose of Sharon Applique blocks

Morning Everyone, I would like to know if you were going to make these blocks what size would you prefer? I have the in my EQ7 program and can print them out. I know the bigger you want them it becomes alot of work for printing as they would have to be pieced together. Thanks muchly for all your advice and help.

You only need to print 1/4 of the block then trace it 4 times on your foundation. Just remember the smaller you make them, the smaller your applique pieces will be. I think I would like anywhere from 12" to 16" blocks. Try printing them as a 12" block and if you like the way the pieces look then do them that size, if you think all the applique pieces are too tiny notch it up to 14" and so forth. I don't think I would go any bigger than 18" and I don't think I would go any smaller than 12" (these are finished sizes.)

Well thanks bunches Feline. I don't think one could print just a 1/4 but will play with my program. There looks like there is only 8 true Rose of Sharon blocks in my EQ wonder if there is more?

Default Roses of Remembrance Quilt

In early 2011 Sharon Pederson and her business partner Elizabeth Phillips created the Rose of Sharon project to help raise funds for the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. The Electric Quilt Company provided the Rose of Sharon design shapes (based on true-size AccuQuilt dies) on their site and created a contest where more than 850 Rose of Sharon quilt block designs were submitted from 11 different countries. Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims selected the final top 12 designs for Sharon's "Roses of Rememberance" quilt. EQ still provides free EQ downloads of all of the blocks that were submitted, as you indicated.

The blocks were to be drawn initially at 12", but you obviously can change that to any size you like. And I wouldn't worry about printing on several pages because EQ7 prints the pages with in such a way that you can easily line them all up for the full-size design. You can see Sharon's finished quilt here (she also has a book out with all of the designs for this quilt).
