a question for those who applique
#1
Hi!
For those of you who applique, what fusible web do you prefer???
I have a chance to rent a booth at a quilt show and plan to have some shapes made with my die cut machine pre cut to sell. I want to make sure I have what most people prefer. Also, do you prefer to applique cotton shapes? I prefer fleece and felt (I've also been told I quilt to the beat of a different drummer...)
Thanks for any advice!

I have used Steam-a-Seam Lite, too. It makes it easier to quilt, if you cut a piece that goes all around the piece being appliqued rather than covering the entire applique piece. It's sometimes difficult to hand quilt with all the fusible web.

I applique using 100% cotton and use needleturn applique, so having the 1/4 inch seam built into the piece is important to me. I have done some applique using iron on, using steam a seam. But I find I don't like the stiffness and prefer to applique by hand. I haven't thought of using felt or fleece for applique, but I think it's a great idea and I will have to remember it! Good luck with your booth!
