My WM is getting ready for remodel so the fabric is on sale, which is good but I'm sad because that means no more fabric. Just wanted to vent. :(

Don't stock up on the fabric instead stock up on the good muslin, fuseables, quilted fabric (for totes), interfacings, cotton canvas, insulbrite, peltex, ticking, thread, bias bindings, ric rack, trims, buttons, zippers, elastic, these are the simple items I really miss not having access to.

I don't buy from WM very often, but I do enjoy looking and petting as I go by. I know there are so many ladies that don't have any other options but WM. I feel bad for them.

We lost our fabric section here recently too..... I know that WM is supposedly remodeling all of their stores? I wonder if they are getting rid of fabric in all of them???

I used to get all of my fabric at Walmart but our stores here remodeled two years ago. Then I found Moda fabrics and found it ro be such good quality compared to WM that I started selling it.

Our local Walmart is also closing their fabric department soon. All the "by the yard" fabric and trims are on sale at 25% off. I bought a lot of fabric at Walmart for my charity sewing. I bought a whole bolt of white fleece today for Soldier's Christmas stockings next year. Unfortunately, all their Christmas fabric was gone. I did find some nice fabric for Charity projects...going to miss their prices...but for everything else, I buy online or LQS and coupons etc at Joann's.

Both of the walmart stores where I shop did the same thing about 6 months ago. There is still a small section of scissors, pins, heat and bond, etc. No thread, no buttons,no ribbon sigh

All of the Walmarts in our area, except 1, have remodeled and quit selling fabrics. The one store that is left seldom gets any thing new in, other than very cheap quality seasonal fabrics.

We have a Hobby Lobby, but they seldom get anything new in either. We do have 3 quilt stores, thankfully. But they are at least 45 minutes away.

Our local wal-mart remodled and out went all things related to sewing....including scissors. I recently called to see if they may have sewing machine needles and no such luck. That is about all I will buy from wal-mart any more since their fabric is not of very good quality. Their fleece is such that it will "pill" badly and I have heard where people won't even use it for pet beds. How sad tho that they are turning into stores that are not shopper friendly. :(
