I heard that Goo Gone stuff worked-bought some and it didn't help at all-just made a mess on my hands!! Then I bit the bullet and forked out for a tube of Dritz Iron-off hot iron cleaner at Joann's (with a 50% off coupon) and it worked great!!! I use to just use salt with a hot dry iron on newspaper and it worked on my old iron - just don't use it on any teflon-coated iron. I think my ironboard cover is messing up my iron-brand new iron and I have only ironed quilting fabric-no starch, fusible, etc-and still getting "stuff" on it. Anyway, the Dritz worked!!
