i'll bet the machine includes an extra spool pin.
check your manual to see what it looks like and where it goes.
that pin will stand up straight and will likely work well with your spool.

The cover thing ... are you meaning it's too small?

I don't know your 7700, but for the 6600 .... Check your extra bits and pieces that come with the machine ... you would have received get both small and large, that you use for the specific spool size.

Hopefully your 7700 came with a large spool cover and a extra pin to use for large cotton reels.Have a dig in your accessory box. Your book should show you where to put it. i have a 7700 and i love mine my Ruby Red works like a charm. cheers Quilter qld :

I have a Janome 7700 but I'm not sure what you mean by "cover thing". You should have a both a large and small spool holder as well as a spool pin so that you can put a spool of thread upright. If you can try and explain a bit more I will try and help.

I use mine in an upright position--esp. for when I'm using extra things like trying to use a bobbin that I want to use the thread off of. Check your extra spool holder. I keep the cover open when I do that...which is basically all of the time!

Ok will have another look... I didn't see another pin (sorry, don't know the lingo) and the manual just showed the small and large spool cover, but the large one didn't fit.

ok, does this look right? i tried (unsuccessfully) to take the spool pin out because there is that extra one in my hand that i'm not sure what it's for....

i got this used and all my pieces are in a bag and my manual is in pieces, haha!

that should be used as it is, vertical. not horizontally on the little arm. http://content.janome.com/index.cfm/...lting/JNH_7700 look under accessories and then 2 thread spool stand.
